Designed by the Catalan firm That Home Studio for a young couple of entrepreneurs, this luxurious apartment is a real blast from the past. The original elements, such as the coffered parquet floors and moulded ceilings, have been carefully preserved and flanked by new solutions (first and foremost the wood panelling that surrounds the long corridors) that reinterpret the retro spirit of a beautiful period building, adding a more contemporary twist. The colour palette, invariably based on neutral and relaxing tones that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, acts as a common thread in the succession of rooms, as does the calibrated choice of furnishings and decorative items from modern antiques shops in Barcelona and Madrid and design stores in Paris. An important role is played by the many works of art, all from the homeowners’ collection. Like the rest of the apartment, the majestic bathroom is flooded with natural light that illuminates the veins of the marble, whose geometries are designed by the alternation of white and red. Next to the large window, an armchair looks towards the main striking backdrop of this space dedicated to relaxation, where a large mirror frames the Art Déco lines of the Holiday bathtub, with its fine marble plinth.
