Like its twin, the Calimala The West, the Calimala The East boutique hotel has been redesigned by Alex Meitlis Architecture & Design with a modern take on traditional Florentine hospitality.
Behind the Renaissance façade of this prestigious 16th-century building, the rooms and suites welcome guests with a perfect fusion of exposed ancient stone walls, pictures by emerging artists and designer furniture.
The bathrooms feature the same timeless elegance, their iconic floors and walls tiled in three-colour terrazzo and enhanced by the sculpted lines of the Aurora bathtub and Memphis console, the Thirties’ style geometrics of the Blues washbasins and sanitaryware and the vintage sophistication of the Jupiter towel warmers.
