In the ancient town of Loughton, once an important post house on the road between London and Cambridge, and today a hideaway favoured by celebrities and millionaires, a 1920s home has been renovated to host a family of four. Interior designer Suzanne Howell has reinterpreted the space with a classic-contemporary style. To meet the owners’ request for spaces with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, the designer worked particularly hard on the lighting design aspect of the project. Her decision to also make the bathrooms bright is therefore not surprising: they bask in the light of the Admiral Lux free-standing bathtub in artisan polished cast iron, and in the bright whiteness of the Premiere console.
