On the island of Giava, a private residence reinterprets the ancient legend of Lilith through a contemporary lens.
BK Studio adopted this narrative inspiration as the guiding thread of a project where conceptual coherence brings aesthetic unity to the elusive duality of the female demon associated with chaos and storm.
Like a literary work in which space takes the place of language, the rooms are sculpted by light and shadow, by the contrast of black and white, and by an ever-shifting balance between strength and grace, spatial movement and visual calm.
With the same sense of ease, Far East and West merge into an elegance that effortlessly transcends space and time.
The classical setting is animated by eastern resonances: porcelain vases engage in a graceful duet with crystal chandeliers, while finely crafted wooden furnishings dialogue with wallpapers and floral stuccoes, evoking both Art Nouveau and the iconic decorative language of Chinese porcelain.
Even the exuberance of the surrounding nature takes part in this interplay of non-linear references, acting as a counterpoint to the rigorous composure of the marble floor geometries.
By contrast, absolute stillness reigns supreme in the master suite, mellowed by a symphony of greys and beiges, and in the luxurious bathroom, where the poetic soul of the home ultimately becomes a sanctuary of serenity.
At the heart of an exquisitely orchestrated mise en scène of marble, velvet, and rare woods, the Victorian purity of the Regina cast iron bathtub is brought to life by the precious glint of its gold-finished feet.
