Holiday and Season Vanity take centre stage at Casa Decor

Set in a splendid palazzo in the centre of Madrid, the exhibition is characterised by recurring references to nature, alongside organic-texture wallpapers and resounding echoes that denote a transition from one level to another. This is an intimate space that has been designed entirely with sustainability at its core. Casa Decor sticks closely to its guiding principles yet also manages to amaze visitors who come to the event in Madrid to enjoy a showcase of the best in international design. To mark its 30th edition, the exhibition this year is making a return to the venue at Calle Goya 89 where it was first launched.
Visitors to Casa Decor are not to miss out on the Italian area curated by Raúl Martins, who was selected as one of the AD 100 best European interior designers. Through clever use of light, colour and material, Martins presents a striking display of his memories of Italy: flooring that evokes the designs of ancient churches, almost-brutalist walls that bring to mind the walls of trulli in Puglia, and an abundance of light that is multiplied by a white and neutral colour palette. The absolute stars of the show here are the Holiday bathtub (with its beautifully supple design moulded entirely in White Tec Plus, an innovative compound that delivers the very highest standards in terms of quality and sustainability) and the neoclassical Season Vanity unit (with integrated Season Vanity dressing table). These pieces have been chosen to fly the flag for outstanding Italian design, which for Raúl is based as much on tradition and high-quality workmanship as it is on a global approach and the capacity to innovate.
Casa Decor runs from 7 April to 22 May 2022. The Italian design space has been created in partnership with ITA (Italian Trade Agency).
