Halfway between Avenue Montaigne and Rue du Faubourg St-Honoré and a short distance from the Champs-Elysées, a beautiful Haussmannian building has been transformed into the perfect refuge for the most demanding travellers on their trips to Paris, drawn as much by the hotel’s intimate, reserved atmosphere as by its impressive view of some of the city’s most iconic monuments. The interior design, by Jacques Garcia, effectively plays around with the contrast between the magnitude of the spaces and the warm atmosphere of the decorative elements, some of which are original and others are new, added with refined theatrical taste. The hotel’s ritual for welcoming its guests also reflects its vocation as a second home: instead of the traditional reception, there is a customised reception service and for their moments of relaxation there is a smoking lounge and a well-stocked library, both of which create an atmosphere reminiscent of times gone by. In pursuit of the same savoir-vivre, the large bathrooms of the suite are decorated with marble walls and floors and by the iridescent brilliance of the Regal cast iron bathtub, covered in polished aluminium leaf.
